Open concept living requires careful planning to maintain visual flow — finding storage that doesn't interrupt sightlines or create awkward disconnections is always one of our biggest
challenges as designers. In this Charlestown, RI home, we addressed those storage and utility needs by incorporating a butler's pantry into the open concept kitchen.
We integrated the pantry door into a demising wall that houses functional cabinetry, a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and coffee station. To reinforce the space's clean, seamless appearance, we disguised the door as just another paneled appliance front within the cabinet wall. Built in collaboration with
Sweenor Builders, this butler's pantry proves you don't have to sacrifice aesthetics for functionality — we carried the same bright, inviting feel of the kitchen right into the smaller space.
