Historic District Commission Award

Caswell Cottages Project recognized by Narragansett Historic District Commission.

At an inaugural ceremony on Saturday, August 10th 2019, the Narragansett Historic District Commission (NHDC) launched a new awards program to recognize historic preservation efforts locally.

Our work re-imagining four declining cottages on Caswell Street, one of our earliest collaborations with Sweenor Builders, was distinguished for New Construction in a Historic District.  According to the NHDC, the award recognizes “a new building, harmonious in form, material, siting and scale with the established district character.”

“Over the past few years, Narragansett has benefited from an increase in historic preservation efforts and we want to recognize the dedicated people responsible…. They all make Narragansett a better place to live.” — Keith Lescarbeau, Narragansett Historic District Chairman

As natives of the area — we’re deeply vested in ensuring that Narragansett remains a vibrant village neighborhood — and thrilled to be recognized for this work.  To learn more about the awards program, click here.
